Below are photos showing the general assembly of the VeloKit, including hardware specific to certain trikes. First time set up takes 1-3 hours, after that taking the VeloKit off, or puting it on takes 5-10 minutes. krash@krash.us
First thing to mount is the head tube hardware. This tends to be very trike specific.
Next mount is the Bottom Bracket
Working our way back, next up is the hand guards. These keep your hands from rubbing on the VeloKit fabric. Having a stretched fabric body, not only makes the VeloKit much lighter than a hard shell, it's what makes the VeloKit work with so many standard recumbent trikes.
The last mount is the rear. This bracket either bolts or clamps to the rear rack of your trike, depending on what type of rack you have.
Start by sliding the front post through the body fabric, then work your way around the panel adding the mirror mount, #1 rod,#2 rod etc. Before #1 goes in, you have to slide the top side post on it.
Now on to the side body panels. This is not to hard if you study the pictures before you get started. First lay out the parts as in the exploded view to the right, This works well either on the floor, or spread out on a large table.

With #3, you have to start the curved end through about 2 sections of fabric, then through the loop on the bottom side post, then through the rest of the body panel. Make sure the top and bottom side posts plus there parts (side post support, large and small adjustment washers ), are assembled before you do this.
Once the mirror mount is on, the #1 rod goes into it and locks into the front post.
After you get the side panels done and mounted on the trike, connect them together with the 3 roof support rods. The curved one goes in the front and has Velcro tabs to hold it in place. The rear body panel has the rod mounted in it and you just have to shove the ends in the 2 rear connector blocks and press down the Velcro.

Next mount the roof panel. To do this, simply touch down the 2 front Velcro tabs on the bottom side of the roof, then just let it roll back. Then roll the body fabric over the top and press down the Velcro.
Now you are ready to mount the fairing. First assemble the hardware as in these photos.
When you mount the fairing, make sure you have a rubber washer on each side of the plastic. VERY IMPORTANT: Only tighten nuts enough to engage the locking threads.
Here's some tips for adjusting and using your VeloKit.

Lifting the trike
Grass and Velcro don't mix
Adjusting for hot weather
Adjusting #4 support rods
Rolling the side windows
Adjusting the front fabric for more air flow
